The Park Theatre & Performing Arts Centre is a 360-425 seat performing arts venue that hosts a variety of entertainment including plays, concerts, musicals, movies, comedians, events, Live TV events such as sports and more.

HISTORY:
Opened in 1948 as a movie theatre, the “Park Theatre”has been many things over the years including a nightclub and a concert stage.  In recent years it was known as the “Park Playhouse” owned and operated by Rocky Varcoe and was closed in 2010.

NEW BEGINNINGS:
In January of 2012 the Park Playhouse caught the eye of Antonio Sarmiento who had recently relocated to Cobourg from Los Angeles after 20+ years in the Entertainment Industry.   The sight of the vintage theatre sitting “closed” in one of the most beautiful downtowns in all of Canada became a call to action.  On January 1st, 2012 the Park Playhouse was re-named, renovated, re-branded, and re-opened under Antonio Sarmiento’s management as Artistic Director/Managing Partner, , Scott Templeton Talent Buyer/Partner and Alyssa McCallum Events Coordinator

REPUTATION:
The multimedia, video and sound capabilities of the Park Theatre have received acclaim from industry professionals who call it a “True Multipurpose Arts Venue”.  Under its new management the Park Theatre has enjoyed a growing reputation of quality and cutting edge technology while maintaining the vintage theatrical experience.
